With Trump out of the White House, Boris Johnson forced out of his leadership and Jair Bolsonaro likely to lose his re-election as president of Brazil; we are seeing the end of first-wave populism. But, as Janan Ganesh warns, there is one thing worse than incompetent populism: the oncoming wave of competent populism.
