Why have thousands of Nigerians taken up the faith? In the 1970s, there were only a handful of Jews in Nigeria, and even today, the country is split, with the North being predominately Muslim and the South Christian. However, beginning in the 1990s, something extraordinary happened, and many people started to turn to Judaism. Although no reliable consensus exists, it's estimated fifty years later that there might be as many as 30,000 Nigerian born Jews.
