A cyberattack of never-before-seen proportions. Alexander Lukashenko has been in power in Belarus since 1994 and "has built Europe’s most repressive police state and ruthlessly used his power to stay in office as a dictator." After the disputed presidential elections in 2020, protests against the regime escalated quickly. Still, Lukashenko managed to remain in power. This time around, however, he faces a different type of challenge, one which may pose the biggest threat to his authoritarian government yet: a hack by the Belarus Cyber Partisans. Patrick Howell O'Neill investigates the mysterious group's intentions.
